I spent a lot of time reading the reviews on many air purifier and after weighing the pros and cons, I decided on the HealthMate. I've had it since January and it has is wonderful! My wife and I both smoke and the smoke always lingers. We live in an apartment and I couldn't believe the difference in air quality. I'm so excited about my HealthMate that I am going to buy ones for my kids. We just now vacuumed the vents and it was very easy to do.

Just received the HealthMate from airfiltersandpurifiers.com, saw the pre-filter and paper thin "HEPA" filter. Just for those who care - it is quiet - meaning the motor is not particularly noisy - but not "silent.” Will update my review later when I can report on its performance.

I have owned 3 air purifiers, including this one over the last 15 years. By far, the HealthMate is best and it is the cheapest to maintain. In the past, I would set the air purifiers on high because I like background noise while I sleep. but this one is not as loud at all.

Nothing has worked to get rid of the yucky smoke in our apartment left from the old tenant. Out of desperation, I bought the HealthMate and I am sooo glad I did. Within hours, we noticed a difference – NO SMELL. I leave it running 24/7 and find that not only did I get rid of the smoke smell, but I am always breathing clean air. This is a great air purifier.

My wife and I purchased this Austin Air HealthMate after ALOTof research. Our new downstairs neighbor is a heavy smoker and his smoke is stinking up our apartment and making my allergies worse. We keep the HealthMate on nearly 24/7. At night, we set our HealthMate on the medium but we run it on high during the day. It works great and has made a huge difference in the air quality. I vacuum the outside every month or month and half and that's it!

I would definitely recommend the HealthMate air purifier to everybody. I am likely going to purchase another one for my parents' house. My dad smokes and my eyes, nose, and throat burn after just one night of staying there. When I’m there, the Healthmate will filter the air in the room and I'm able to breathe. When I leave, my mom will not have to deal with that second hand smoke!!

I now own two air purifiers. I have a HealthMate around the kitchen and dining room. The other is near the bedrooms. I learned from my first air purifier that you really have to leave it on all the time to make sure the air is always clean. My home no longer collects dust. If you do that, your home won't collect dust.

3 years ago a bought the Healthmate. My dad was living with us and he had emphysema. The Healthmate ran continuously over these years, never being turned off. Dad kept the machine next to his lounge chair and never left, because it where he felt he could breathe the best. My dad passed away recently and I thought I would let you know that your machine helped my dad be comfortable in his final years. Thanks.

I bought a Healthmate 400 a few months ago. It makes more noise on the high setting than I thought it would. On lower setting I can't tell its on. In general, I am really happy I have it in my home!
