Aerosols are tiny solid and/or liquid particles suspended in the atmosphere from natural and man-made sources. They can be directly emitted into the atmosphere by volcanoes, wind lifting dust, sea spray, and evaporating compounds, to name a few. In fact, an aerosol phenomenon was observed during the Gulf Oil Spill that unlocked a mystery about air pollution. When heavy evaporating oil particles and air combined as a result of sun, wind and wave action, aerosols were created that became the source of long lasting air pollution.
Scientists at the spill noticed that much of the crude oil quickly dissipated by evaporation[...]

Air Pollution-Related Illnesses
Air Purifiers Reduce the Health Risks
Car exhaust and factory smoke can make you sick. These pollutants enter the air and often, become a component of smog. Smog worsens when ethanol-based gasoline is consumed by automobiles. When burned, ethanol exhaust produces volatile organic compound (VOC) gases including formaldehyde. More ethanol use means more pollution! These toxins and factory-emitted air contaminations are not good for our environment and now have been linked to illnesses including Pneumonia. Invest in an air purifier to reduce health risks with quality home air filtration. The best air purifiers are built with activated carbon blends and medical[...]

Inversion Traps Pollution Causing Health Problems
The HealthMate Plus Air Purifier Reduces Health Risks
When warm air is sitting on cold air, it is called an inversion. Inversions trap high concentrations of pollutants and reduce air quality. To avoid inhaling excessive pollutants, don't exert yourself outdoors. With indoor air contamination levels 3 to 10 times higher that outdoors, use an air purifier. We recommend the HealthMate Plus.
Temperature Inversions
In the winter months, cold air can lay closest to the ground while the warm air is above. This is called a temperature inversion, because normally they are reversed. A dense layer of cold air along with polluting contamination is[...]

Wood Smoke Pollution Effects on Health
Wood Smoke can be Harmful
The following video is about how wood smoke is harmful to our health. It describes the growing evidence that wood smoke contaminates the air we breathe and how particle matter penetrates our lungs and into our bloodstream. Carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) are found in the air making it hard to breathe. The smoke affects all of us, but is worse for those with lung problems. It cautions us that wood smoke is dangerous to our health.
